We will have campfires in the evenings for visiting and conversation\, so don’t forget your camp chairs. Outhouses will be available\, located by the Furjesi’s shop. (no shower facility) Ice will be available. \nFlying into Curtis (0WA2) \nAir and ground radio traffic will be on 122.900 \nMain runway is a north and south strip. 2100ft with trees and obstacles on both ends. There is drastically rising terrain just on the North side of the airport. If landing north and a go around is necessary generally a west bound turn out is used. Aircraft performance and pilot skill must be considered. Landing south requires a steep approach and is not commonly used. Both sides of the runway have deep ditches that can be hidden by tall grass. The north end of the runway has a road that butts up against the runway that is frequented by non-airport users so use caution. Do not taxi beyond the north end of the grass and be aware of vehicles crossing. The East/West strip is not considered a runway and should only be used in an emergency. That would be considered an off-airport landing. It’s 1800ft long with marked power lines on the west end and it is up-sloping to the east. The East/West strip also may or may not be used for overflow parking. If there are any questions\, please contact Scooter Mainero at 907-331-8389 \n  \nIf driving\, the address for car parking is 693 Curtis Hill Rd. SUMMARY:Oregon’s Golden Age of Aviation
DESCRIPTION:*** NOT AN EAA105 EVENT *** \nCome see a panel discussion with Eileen A. Bjorkman\, David-Paul Hedberg\, Dana McCullough\, and Richard “Dick” VanGrunsven. This is a unique opportunity to hear stories and learn about Oregon’s role in developing a robust aviation community and industry around what is known as Experimental: Amateur Built aircraft. \nIf you want to prepare yourself to better understand what they will be talking about\, you can peruse the information available on this webpage: George Bogardus – EAA105. \nDoors open at 6pm\, program begins at 6:30pm. \nFree and open to the public. \nWednesday\, June 25\, 2025\n6:30PM – 8PM \nOregon Historical Society\n1200 SW Park Ave\nPortland\, Oregon 97205 \n\nDuring the 1930s\, a decade shaped by economic depression as well as innovation\, new career opportunities emerged for men and women as flight schools sprang up in the region and commercial passenger service lifted off. Oregon’s “golden age of aviation” included technological advancements that led to the creation of faster\, more efficient\, and affordable aircraft\, testing the limits of what was possible. Amidst much national uncertainty\, the wonder of flight brought hope and promise\, connecting communities quite literally through the building of new small airports and the popularity and excitement of airshows. \n\nThis panel discussion features four individuals whose deep knowledge of this history comes through personal experience\, archival research\, and hands-on interactions with the era’s artifacts — including the plane featured in our current exhibition\, She Flies with Her Own Wings: Oregon’s Golden Age of Aviation. This special evening\, open to the public\, will also include a screening of a portion of panelist David-Paul Hedberg’s documentary\, The Mighty Wimpy: The Oregon Homebuilt Airplane that Inspired the Experimental Aircraft Movement. \nhttps://www.ohs.org/events/oregons-golden-age-of-aviation.cfm

SUMMARY:Build and Fly -Old School Model
DESCRIPTION:  \nBuild and Fly \nWe will be working on building a Wood and Fabric RC Model Airplane. This will be a 6 week project every Sunday for 6 weeks.
