Young Eagle events

EAA 105 has Young Events on the first Saturdays of June, July, August, and September. It also has its Monthly Blueberry Pancake Breakfasts on the same days. The breakfasts are open to the public and at the large hangar attached to the Twin Oaks Airpark main office. The Young Eagle events are at EAA 105’s Hangar G1. Registration for the young Eagle events are through the eaachapters.org website.


EAA 105 Young Eagle event FAQs:

  • The events are on the first Saturdays of June, July, August, and September at Twin Oaks Hangar G1.
    Each event is from 10 -1pm.
  • The event is free, and for ages 8 to 17. Activities for younger children will be available.
  • A parent or legal guardian must register the youth on the eaachapters.org website.
    Registration is available after it’s previous event.
    Registration opens again on the day of the event.
  • Flight availability depends on the weather and number of pilots available.
  • Parking is available in the parking lot off SW River Road.
  • Care must be taken while walking to and around Hangar G1 to avoid other airport activities like flight training, aircraft movement, and fueling.
  • Parents must keep children away from aircraft. Don’t ever touch a propeller!
  • Pilots and Parents need to sign the event iPad upon arrival at Hangar G1.
  • Youth are assigned a pilot to fly with, based on first time flight priority.
  • The flight lasts about 20 minutes and afterward the youth is given a logbook with benefits.
  • Youth can take more than one Young Eagle flight. Bring the Young Eagle logbook to future events.
