Description
Lycoming O-290-D2Aircraft Engine Parts - As Is / Where is
Certified 1 May 1952. 135 hp (101 kW) at 2600 rpm continuous, 140 hp (104 kW) at 2800 rpm for 5 minutes, 7.5:1 compression ratio, dry weight 233 lb (106 kg).[1]
The Lycoming O-290 is a dual ignition, four-cylinder, air-cooled, horizontally opposed aircraft engine. It was first run in 1939, and entered production three years later.
The D2 variant is rated up to 135hp continuous and 140hp for 5 minutes.
This engine was removed from an RV-3 donation. It is an experimental engine with the data plate removed. The pictures show the condition of the crank and cam. This is an excellent core engine for a rebuild. The crank has some scoring, but it should be able to polish out. The cam looks pretty good.
