EAA105 is a proud supporter of the Airway Science for Kids’ TeenFlight program. For those of you who missed our last Chapter Gathering at the Hillsboro Airport TeenFlight building, below is a video documentary of the first TeenFlight build. It speaks to how our local TeenFlight program began, as well as what the students and mentors gain from being part of the program.
Teens between 14 and 19, take approximately 1.5 to 2 years during the school year, every Saturday for 6 hours, to build the airplane. There is a formal application process with a new class starting in the fall. Anyone interested in becoming a TeenFlight student or mentor, can send an email to Aron Faegre (faegre at earthlink dot net), who manages the class, and he will respond with more information.
