Breakfast Report
We served 138 at the January 6, 2024 breakfast, and 165 at the February 3, 2024 breakfast. With the large number of regular volunteers, we are becoming ever more efficient, which also means more fun for the volunteers. The next breakfast is on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Visit the chapter website at EAA105.org or contact Cliff Gerber at breakfast@eaa105.org if you want to volunteer as a regular or just for the next breakfast as needed.
Monthly Chapter Meeting and Holiday Banquet
Our holiday banquet which had been scheduled for January 12, 2024, was rescheduled due to the recent ice storm, and now our holiday banquet will be held Friday, February 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Columbia Aviation Association clubhouse at 14323 Stenbock Way NE #9407, Aurora, Oregon. It is a potluck, so please bring a dish. There is no admission fee, but it is limited to chapter members and their dates. You can join the chapter and pay your dues at the banquet.
Due to the rescheduling of the holiday banquet to the second Friday of this month, the monthly chapter meeting will not be held on the usual second Thursday this month. The next regular chapter meeting will be on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Brent Anderson Memorial Auction
The auction of the items donated to the chapter by Brent Anderson went off without a hitch on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Hanger B12 in the Tower T hangar complex at Hillsboro Airport. We managed to sell everything but the stripped airframe of Brent’s RV-4 which is destined for display duty.
Build and Fly Program
Contact Bill Jepson or Mike Whelan for information on this youth activity. The board of directors has authorized the purchase of another kit. The group meets on Sundays at the chapter’s project hangar G1 at Twin Oaks. Details and contact information is available on our website.
Calendar of Upcoming Events
As described above, the potluck Holiday Banquet will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Columbia Aviation Association Clubhouse at Aurora Airport. The First Saturday of Every Month Pancake and Grits Breakfast will occur on the first Saturday of every month. Details of the breakfast are on the chapter website EAA105.org under the “Calendar” tab. The next breakfast is on March 2, 2024, and the next regular chapter meeting will be on March 14, 2024. Young Eagle events will be held on the first Saturday of June, July, August, and September 2024 at Hanger G1 at Twin Oaks Airpark.
Cessna 120 Project
The chapter’s Cessna 120 project is being offered for sale. If interested, contact Chris Riedener at 503-754-5605. Details of the aircraft can be found on the Programs page of this website.
