Breakfast Report

             We served 168 at the March breakfast, down from 165 at the February breakfast. Contact Cliff Gerber at breakfast@eaa105.org if you want to volunteer as a regular or just for the next breakfast as needed. The next breakfast is Saturday, April 6, 2024.  As the weather improves, we should see more aircraft fly in.

Monthly Chapter Meeting

The March 14, 2024 program was a recap by Chris Riedener of the chapter’s Cessna 120 project, which is currently up for sale..   The program for the April 11, 2024 meeting will be a presentation by Jerry Van Grunsven of some of his flying experiences.

Youth Programs

            The chapter is currently operating three youth programs out of the chapter’s Hangar G1 at Twin Oaks Airpark: 

  • Young Eagle flights will be the first Saturday of June, July, August and September.
  • Discuss, Design, Build and Try , a model airplane program will be held on the first Thursday of every month from 6 to 8 pm starting April 4, 2024 for 13 to 17 year olds.
  • Build and Fly Program , a radio control model airplane program will be held every Sunday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:30 pm starting May 5, 2024 for 13-18 year olds. Descriptions of all three programs can be found on the chapter website,  Feel free to refer youths you know who may be interested in building and flying  model aircraft, and/or becoming a Young Eagle.

Flying Start Program

            The chapter will be hosting an EAA Flying Start program in Hangar  G1 at Twin Oaks on Saturday, May 25, 2024 to welcome, inspire, and educate aspiring aviators about the pathway to becoming a pilot, capped off with an introductory Eagle Flight.   If you are a CFI who wants to participate or an EAA member and pilot who wants to give an introductory Eagle Flight, please contact Rion at 503-720-9394.
