Breakfast Report

Attendance was up to 257 at the June breakfast.  The weather was beautiful so we had lots of aircraft fly in.  The CAP cadets were on hand to help with the foot traffic.  Breakfast is back to normal and humming right along.  We flew 16 YE flights as well.  Cliff has assembled an able ground crew and this program is flourishing under his leadership.  If you want to fly Young Eagles or help with the ground crew,  contact Cliff.

Monthly Chapter Meeting Report

Chad Koehnen and James Breazeal gave a presentation on 3D printing, and had several finished projects on hand, as well as two printers.  Among other objects, they have printed fittings to secure the C-120 wings to a rotisserie for painting and covering, and headset brackets for use in cockpits.   The material, strength, and weight of the printed objects can be varied according to need.  The use of 3D printing for experimental aircraft looks very promising.   The wings of the C-120 have been primed, and are almost ready for covering.   The wings and fuselage of the Build and Fly trainer have also been framed and are ready for covering.    Bill Jepson reports he has six or seven regular participants.  We do not have a program scheduled yet for the next chapter meeting on July 13, so please contact me with any suggestions at rion@att.net.
